In the summer months our patio, The Ice Cream Social, serves a selection of ice cream drinks, cocktails, and adult floats on our festive vintage patio. Enjoy a Dole Whip or a Pink Squirrel while you soak up the the beautiful nights of summer.

Located behind At Random, The Ice Cream Social is back for its 4th year! What started as a pandemic necessity has turned into a well-loved retreat, full of ice cream drinks, patio sippers, and vintage festive vibes. It's perfect for a night out with friends!
On weekends we serve the world famous Dole Whip, a delicious pineapple soft serve invented at Disneyland. Of course this is At Random, the mecca of boozy ice cream, so we add a swirl of dark rum which makes it even more delicious. Stop by and see for yourself, we are open Tuesday through Sunday.

We do not accept reservations, but waits are generally pretty short for couples and small groups. We cannot seat you until a majority of your party has arrived and, due to COVID restrictions, you will be unable to wait inside the lounge.

Our lounge is very dark, even during the daytime hours. You and your date will both look 32-54% more attractive under our unique amber lighting.

Because our environment is so dark, we cannot allow flash photography. Please turn off your flash and, while you're at it, silence your phone. Remember, you are entering 1964.

You must be seated to be served a drink. As my grandfather used to say, that's why they call it a lounge and not a stand.

We do not have a dress code, but we do ask that you dress like you are visiting a cocktail lounge. In 1964.

We take credit card deposits for some of our glassware, including the Tiki Love Bowl. Please understand that we still use some antique glassware that is nearly impossible to replace.
Also, before you visit us, please keep in mind the following:

You must be 21 to enter At Random. Children are allowed on the patio, with a parent, until 7pm.

Our cocktails are made by hand, one at a time, and can take longer to prepare than a cocktail at your local bar. We could cut corners to increase our efficiency, but we think our drinks are pretty great as they are!

Many of our ingredients and recipes are secret. This is a Milwaukee cocktail lounge tradition that dates back before the start of At Random. If you have allergies, please inform your bartender or server.

We accept major credit cards and cash.

Our Hours and Policies may change at any time. These are crazy times and we have to constantly respond to environmental changes. Just keep in mind that our #1 priority is keeping our staff and guests safe.

Before you Visit
At Random is a traditional cocktail lounge, opened in 1964. We are very proud of our unique, perfectly preserved environment and our fantastic mid-century cocktails. We want everyone to have a good time when they visit, but it is important to keep in mind that we are not a bar, we are a cocktail lounge and a certain amount of 'cocktail lounge etiquette' is expected.
In the time of COVID 19 we have added several cleaning and sanitizing procedures in order to keep our staff and customers healthy, plus some new procedures that will assure everyone's safety. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated. If there are any conditions below that you do not agree with, please do not come to At Random during this time! Just hold off, we'll be open to all with no restrictions in the not too distant future.

Masks are Required. Our staff will be wearing masks and we require that you wear a mask when you are away from your table or interacting with our staff.

Please do not move tables or chairs.

Only one person is allowed in the restroom at a time.

We will have no bar seating until further notice.

We will not be seating parties over six until further notice.

Please relax and have fun. The last eight months have been hard on everyone and these rules are a lot, but once you are at your table, you can remove your mask, enjoy your drink, and have a nice time with your loved ones.
